Orthopedics Operating Room
The Orthopedics unit of the Private Hospital is a reference center for prosthetic, arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery. Our teams use the most innovative materials and techniques. Furthermore, within the structure, the postoperative process benefits from the possibility of treating the patient with the best physiotherapists of the orthopedic rehabilitation departments.
The orthopedics department has over 10,000 cases treated, the main interventions performed:
Total hip replacement
Over 1600 total hip replacement surgical procedures have been performed at the Orthopedics unit of the Private Hospital. Total hip replacement surgery consists of complete replacement of the joint using metal prostheses. Currently the most widely used prostheses are made of titanium alloy, but prostheses of different metal alloys can also be cemented to the bone.
Total Knee replacement
Over 3200 total knee replacement procedures have been performed at the Orthopedics unit of the Private Hospital. Total knee replacement surgery consists of replacing with metal parts of damaged cartilage surfaces, performed in the case of arthritis, or a marked joint degeneration, especially in the elderly patient
Knee ligament reconstruction
Over 2200 Knee Ligament Reconstruction operations have been performed at the Orthopedics unit of the Private Hospital. Performed with arthroscopic technique, its objectives are the return of a degree of almost complete movement, the recovery of knee stability (both static and dynamic) compromised with the injury.
Anatomic shoulder replacement
Over 500 operations of Anatomical Shoulder Replacement have been performed at the Orthopedics unit of the Private Hospital. It is a procedure that consists in the insertion of metal and plastic parts that reproduce the normal anatomy of the shoulder.
Reverse shoulder replacement
Over 400 Total Reverse Shoulder Replacement procedures have been performed at the Orthopedics unit of the Private Hospital. It is an ioperation that consists in the insertion of metal and plastic parts that reverse the normal anatomy of the shoulder, in order to restore the functionality of the limb.
Shoulder tendon repair
At the operating unit of the Private Hospital, shoulder tendon repair procedures are performed. These operations are carried out through the use of arthroscopy: a minimally invasive method that, through mini-incisions and a fiber optic camera, saves important muscle structures and assesses associated joint organic lesions.
